IIT-JEE 2012 - Apply Online and Get exemption in Application Fee

Indian Institues of Technology is going to organise Joint Entrance Examination 2012. The examination will be held on Sunday, April 8, 2012. The last date to apply ONLINE is December 10,2011.To increase greater diversity by encouraging girl students participation in Indian Institutes of Technology, the application fee for JEE is exempted from 2012 for girls. However, the application fee for boys would be hiked by Rs. 800/- from the current Rs 1,000/-. Which means boys will have to pay Rs. 1800/- for the application fee for the prestigious Joint Entrance Examination conducted by IITs. But if they apply ONLINE then they will have to pay just Rs. 1600/-.

Carry home your OMR Sheet

It is for the first time that the candidates appearing in the IIT-JEE 2012 Entrance Test can carry home the OMR Sheet attempted by them. With the Right to Information act being stressed repeatedly by the supreme court, applicants of IITJEE-2012 will be able to take home a copy of the OMR (optic response sheet). The OMR copy will have the responses marked by the applicant, which will enable him to tally with the answer keys once the key is released.

Other change announced is about the use of pen for marking responses on the OMR sheet.

A total of seventeen colleges use JEE as a sole criterion for admission to their undergraduate programs. The seventeen colleges include the seven old and eight new (2009) Indian Institutes of Technology, IT-BHU Varanasi, and ISM Dhanbad. Starting in 2007, newly established institutions such as the Indian Institutes of Science Education and Research at Kolkata, Pune, Bhopal & Thiruvananthapuram, Indian Maritime University and Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Petroleum Technology are also admitting students through the JEE (Extended Merit List). OBC - Revised Rate of Interest on Fixed Deposit

Oriental Bank of Commerce has revised Rate of Interest on all Fresh deposits and Renewal of deposits on and after 28.11.2011. In regard to deposits on differential rate of interest irrespective of amount, prior approval for interest rates, quantum of deposits and any other waiver of terms of deposits to be obtained from General Manager (Treasury) Head Office.

Details of incomplete on-line applications of Combined Higher Secondary Level (CHSL) Examination, 2011

List of applicants where there is doubt about payment of fee.

Applicants are required to contact the concerned regional office of SSC with documentary proof of fee having been paid in time to obtain Admission Certificates. Staff Selection Commission has published the list of candidates whose application has been found incomplete on account of non payment of application fee or where payment of fee is doubtful. Such candidates are required to approach the concerned regional office with proof for payment of fee.  752294 candidates have applied for Combined Higher Secondary Level Examination 2011. Out of these 2744 candidates have been found with incomplete application. Those who had applied for CHSL 2011 they can visit the official website of SSC to check if their name appear in the list of candidates with incomplete application. Candidates whose name appear in the list of incomplete application they must produce the proof of payment of fee so that they can be issued the admission certificate for appearing in the examination.

IIT-JEE 2012 Admit Cards

Indian Institute of Technology is going to organise a Joint Entrance Examination for admission to various Institutions under IIT-Session 2012. The entire process to conduct this examination has been devided into Seven Zones. The zones are IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Guwahati, IIT Kanpur, IIT Kharagpur, IIT Madras and IIT Roorkee. Each and every zone has been alloted different State/City/Town centers. Each center has been assigned a code. So choose the Code of Your Centre carefully. The examination is scheduled on April 8, 2012. The Result will be declared on May 8, 2012.The answer paper of IIT-JEE 2012 is a machine-gradable Optical Response Sheet (ORS). These sheets are graded and scrutinized with extreme care after the examination. 

Candidates will get to know their All India Ranks (AIR) / Category ranks through IIT-JEE 2012 websites / SMS / IVRS on or after May 18, 2012. 

Candidates can view the answer keys of IIT-JEE 2012 on JEE websites from May 7, 2012. 

Only those candidates who attempted both Paper 1 and Paper 2 will be considered for the ranking. Marks in Physics in IIT-JEE 2012 will be equal to marks in Physics section of Paper 1 plus marks in Physics section of Paper 2. Similar procedure will be followed for Chemistry and Mathematics. The sum of the marks obtained in the individual subjects in IIT-JEE 2012 will be the aggregate marks for the candidate.

Indian Institute of Technology is conducting the IIT/JEE 2012 exam on Sunday, April 8, 2012. To appear in the examination every student will be issued a Admit Card by the Institution. Friends it is very much necessary to check your correspondance address while filling the Application Form in Online or Offline mode, because the institution will not issue a DUPLICATE ADMIT CARD if you do not receive the original one. The instructions issued in this regard by the Instituion are as under :-

Admit Card

The admit card will bear the name, application number, registration number, photograph, signature, date of birth, address, language of Question Paper, category and subcategory of the candidate, along with name and address of the IIT-JEE 2012 Examination Centre allotted.

The admit cards will be sent by Speed Post to the address mentioned in the Application Form only to all those eligible candidates who have submitted valid Application Forms, complete in all respects and received at IITs within the stipulated period and are found to be eligible as per criteria. JEE office will not be responsible for any postal delay or irregularity resulting in non-delivery of the Admit Card.  No duplicate admit card will be issued.

You should carefully examine the Admit Card received by you for all the entries made therein. In case of any discrepancy, you should inform the issuing institute immediately. You must bring the admit card to the examination centre. Only those candidates, who hold valid Admit cards, will be allowed to write the examination. 

If the Admit Card is not received by March 15, 2012:

You can obtain your registration number and examination centre from the institute of your zone through phone (IVRS – Interactive Voice Response System) / Website. After obtaining the data, write your name, registration number and the examination centre on two identical halves of an A4-size paper. Affix your photographs (same version of photograph which you have pasted in your Application Form) one on each half and sign on the bottom of the photographs. Then get this attested by the Head of your School / Institution last attended / gazetted officer / notary public. Meet the IIT Representative with this paper on the day of examination (April 8, 2012) one hour before the commencement of the examination at the office of the Presiding Officer of the examination centre. The IIT Representative will retain one half and give the other half back to you. You will be allowed to write the examination provisionally.

Identity Verification

At the examination hall, the admit card should be presented to the invigilators for verification.  The candidate’s identity will be verified with respect to his/her details on the admit card and the centre verification record. If the identity is in doubt, the candidate will not be allowed to appear in the examination. The authorities may at their discretion permit the candidate to appear for the examination after completing formalities including taking of thumb impression. No extra time will be allowed for these formalities to be completed. Any impersonation will lead to disqualification in JEE.

Safe-keep of the Admit Card

Since the qualified candidates are required to produce the admit card at the time of counselling and admission, it should be carefully preserved till the admission through IIT-JEE 2012 is completed.
The admit card will bear the name, application number, registration number, photograph, signature, date of birth, address, language of Question Paper, category and subcategory of the candidate, along with name and address of the IIT-JEE 2012 Examination Centre allotted.


AIEEE Conducting ONLINE Examination First Time ever for the session 2012

Friends,

Central  Board  Of Secondary Education has issued Notice for admission to  ALL INDIA ENGINEERING /ARCHITECTURE ENTRANCE EXAMINATION (AIEEE) - 2012. Interested candidates can Apply Online for this course. The Eleventh All India Engineering/Architecture Entrance Examination (AIEEE) will be conducted  in Offline and Online mode. The Offline Examination date is 29th April, 2012 (Sunday) and Online Examination for B.E./.B.Tech. only will be conducted from 7th May to 26th May, 2012 for admission to degree level courses in Engineering and Architecture in National Institute of Technologies (NITs), Indian Institute of Information Technologies (IIITs), Centrally funded Institutions, Deemed Universities and Institutions in States/UTs (Other than those covered by Joint Entrance Examination) State Level Entrance Examination.

Eligibility:-

The minimum academic qualification for appearing in AIEEE 2012 is that the candidate must have passed in final examination of 10+2 (Class XII) or its equivalent referred to as the qualifying examination. Those appearing in 10+2 (Class XII) final or equivalent examination may also appear in AIEEE 2012 provisionally. Candidates appearing in 10+2 (Class XII) in 2013 or passed in 2009 or before are not eligible to appear in AIEEE 2012.

Date of Birth :-

Only those candidates whose date of birth falls on or after October 01,1987 are eligible. However in case of Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Persons With Disability candidates, upper age limit is relaxed by five years meaning thereby candidates born on or after October 01,1982 are eligible.

Last Date –

The last date for Online Registration is 31.12.2011, however receipt of confirmation page duly completed in CBSE will be 05.01.2012 by Registered/Speed Post only and not in person/courier. Use of address of any coaching institute is strictly prohibited. If anybody uses the address of any coaching institute his/her application form i.e. confirmation page will be rejected. The confirmation Page is to be sent by Registered/Speed Post to CBSE (NOT BY COURIER) to " The Joint Secretary (AIEEE Unit), Central Board of Secondary Education, PS 1-2, Institutional Area, IP Extension,Patparganj, Delhi 110 092" along with original Demand Draft (if fee paid by Demand Draft) for further processing so as to reach latest by 05.01.2012 . Application received beyond this date will not be accepted. Payment can be made as follows
  • by Credit/Debit Card or
  • Demand Draft from any scheduled Commercial Banks

BSNL Utility - View Detail of Calls, Duration of Call, B.B Usage, Pay BSNL Bill under one Portal

A very good facility has been provided by the BSNL which you can't imagine. BSNL has started a selfcare portal as http://selfcare.ndc.bsnl.co.in/irj/portal. After getting registration on this site, you can view all the enquiries relating to your Land Line Telephone Bill. For registration on this site you need Customer Id No. which is printed on your telephone bill on the top of the right hand side.(As Shown Below)



You will be asked to enter a Hint question and its answer, User Name and your email address. After entering these details BSNL will revert back to your mail with User Name and Password. Login to your account with the User Name and Password provided by the BSNL. It will ask to change the password. 


Now comes the main screen of this portal where you can view Detail of Calls and much more facilities. 

Under My Services Head there is a link as View Bills. A screen showing billing detail will open and there is link as Bill Analysis.  By clicking this link a new window will open and there by clicking on the Bill Summary link you will get all the detail. How many calls have been made, the usage charges, other credit and charges Taxes and the Total Bill amount. The second link is there as Itemised Calls. In this link you will get all the information of Calls during the month have been made. You will find here the Number you have called, Date and Time, duration, Units Called and how much it cost as Amount and the Call Type. In call type you will know whether the call is a Local LL call or Local Cellular Call, Std Call etc. At the bottom there is a summary of Total Calls made and its Duration with Total Amount you have to pay.

Central Teachers Eligibility Test 2012 by CBSE

The National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE)  had laid down the minimum  Qualification for a person to be eligible for appointment as a teacher in classes I to VIII. It had been inter-alia provided that one of the essential qualifications for a person to be eligible for appointment as a teacher in any of the schools is that he/she should pass the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) which will be conducted by the appropriate Government in accordance with the Guidelines framed by the NCTE.

Central Board of Secondary Education conducts Central Teachers Eligibility Test 2012 in accordance with the guidelines provided by National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE). CBSE invites online / Offline application from candidates aspiring to be teachers for class – I to Class – VIII to appear for the eligibility Test called Central Teacher’s Eligibility Test to be conducted in Jan 2012 at 80 Exam centers across India.

About CTET 2012 :

HRD Ministry, govt. of India entrusted the responsibility of conducting Central Teacher’s Eligibility Test to CBSE. It’s mandatory to pass in CTET 2012 in order to get job as teacher for Class I – VIII in Central Govt. Schools like Kendriya Vidyalayas, Navodaya Vidyalayas, Tibetan Schools, Sainik Schools & Other schools which consider CTET for recruiting teachers. Accordingly Andhra Pradesh Govt. is also conducting State Level TET named as APTET 2012.

Major Changes in Post Office Interest Rate on various schemes like as POSA, PPF ,NSC ,MIS

The date 11.11.11 (11th November 2011) was very important for investor in Post office Small Saving Savings. On this day the Committee for Comprehensive Review of National Small Savings Fund take a major decision on all the Saving Schemes under Post Office. 


The recommendations of the Committee have been considered in detail, taking into account the views/comments received from other Departments, States/UTs and representations received from various agents’ associations and others.  After detailed examination the following decisions have been taken:-

Rationalisation of Schemes

(i) The maturity period for Monthly Income Scheme (MIS) and National Savings Certificate (NSC) will be reduced from 6 years to 5 years.

(ii) A new NSC instrument, with maturity period of 10 years, would be introduced.

(iii) Kisan Vikas Patras (KVPs) will be discontinued.

(iv) The annual ceiling on investment under Public Provident Fund (PPF) Scheme will be increased from ` 70,000 to ` 1 lakh.

(v) Interest on loans obtained from PPF will be increased to 2% p.a. from existing 1% p.a.

(vi) Liquidity of Post Office Time Deposit (POTD) – 1, 2, 3 & 5 years – will be improved by allowing pre-mature withdrawal at a rate of interest 1% less than the time deposits of comparable maturity. For pre-mature withdrawals between 6-12 months of investment, Post Office Savings Account (POSA) rate of interest will be paid.

Interest Rates on Small Savings Instruments

(i) The rate of interest paid under Post Office Savings Account (POSA) will be increased from 3.5% to 4% p.a.


(ii) The rate of interest on small savings schemes will be aligned with      G-Sec rates of similar maturity, with a spread of 25 basis points (bps) with two exceptions. The spread on 10 year NSC (new instrument) will be 50 bps and on Senior Citizens Savings Scheme 100 bps. The interest rates for every financial year will be notified before 1st April of that year.


(iii) Assuming the date of implementation of the recommendations of the Committee as 1st December, 2011, the rate of interest on various small savings schemes for current financial year on the basis of the interest compounding/payment built in the schemes, will be as given below:-

(iv) Payment of 5% bonus on maturity of MIS will be discontinued.
