Petrol Rates cut down by Rs. 2.46 per litre

Petrol is a very much essential and most wanted item in today's life. Without Petrol life is not going easy. A few days ago there was a huge price rise in Petrol rates. In last fifteen days the Petrol rates have been slashed down to some extent. India's three oil marketing companies (OMCs) have decided to reduce petrol prices by a minimum of Rs.2.46 a liter, depending on states' sales taxes, from midnight, it was announced here Thursday. "The downward revision shall vary from Rs.2.46 per litre to Rs.3.22 per liter including state levies, depending upon the state taxes," Indian Oil Corp. (IOC) said in the statement. In Delhi, the price decrease will be Rs.2.46 per liter. The decrease in other states would vary depending upon the respective rates of state VAT or sales tax. In Delhi, the revised price for a litre of petrol would be Rs.67.78, in Mumbai it would be Rs.73.35 while in Chennai it would be Rs.72.27. The revised price in Kolkata, Hyderabad and Bangalore will be Rs.72.74, Rs.74.89 and Rs.76.39 a litre. On June 2, the three OMCs cut petrol prices by Rs.1.68 a liter. The three OMCs - IOC, Bharat Petroleum Corp. and Hindustan Petroleum Corp. - raised petrol rates by Rs.6.28 a liter, excluding state taxes, the steepest hike in recent memory, to offset the growing losses caused by subsidized rates, rise in the international oil price and a plunging rupee. India imports nearly 80 percent of its crude requirements around $160-170 billion annually. The high cost of imported fuel is partly blamed for the ballooning Indian current account deficit -- the gap between exports and goods and services imports -- to its widest level in eight years. IOC said that it suffered a loss of Rs.1,053 crore by selling petrol at cheap rates during the first two months of 2012-13 fiscal, due to its inability to revise prices in line with rising crude prices and eroding value of rupee against the dollar. "During current fiscal, the corporation (IOC) has already accumulated losses of Rs.1,053 crore (while the three OMCs have lost Rs.2,323 crore) on MS (motor spirit or petrol) sales during the first two months due to inability of OMCs to revise MS prices," IOC added.

IOC estimated that under-recovery on sale of diesel, kerosene and cooking gas, the three items whose pricing remains with government, during 2012-13 will be around Rs.83,000 crore for the company and Rs.151,000 crore for the three OMCs together. "As compared with the last price change (June 11) current under-recovery on diesel has gone up from Rs.6.13 per liter to Rs.10.20 per liter, for kerosene from Rs.24.16 per liter to Rs.30.53 per liter and for cooking gas from Rs.331.13 per cylinder to Rs.396.00 per cylinder as on June 16," the statement said.

IBPS CWE- Clerical Cadre- 2012 - Guidelines

Candidates who are interested in Bank Jobs have to pass the Common Written Examination (CWE) conducted by the Institute of Banking and Personnel Selection (IBPS) from time to time. The CWE for Clerical Cadre was held in November 2011 by IBPS. The journey of this Institute began in 1975, just after nationalization of banks, as Personnel Selection Services (PSS), a unit of National Institute of Bank Management (NIBM). The objective was to develop an unbiased and efficient system for recruitment, promotion and placement services. This prototype initiative was extended to provide these services with all the academic and operational inputs to the banking industry initially which now has been extended to non-banking sectors as well. In 1984 this unit became an independent entity – Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) at the behest of Reserve Bank of India (RBI) and Public Sector Banks. The first Chairman of its Governing Board was Dr Manmohan Singh, the then Governor of RBI. IBPS is envisioned as self governed academic and research oriented institute, with a mission of enhancing human resource development through personnel assessment.

HOW TO APPLY  

Candidates can apply online only from as and when the Institute open its dates  and no other mode of application will be accepted.
Pre-Requisites for Applying Online

Before applying online, candidates should
(i) scan their photograph and signature ensuring that both the photograph and signature are within the required specifications.

(ii) keep the application fee remittance details (Transaction details such as Transaction No., Branch Name and Code etc.) ready in case of Offline Payment i.e. CBS/ NEFT /Keep the necessary details /documents ready to make online payment of the requisite application fee.

(iii) have a valid personal email ID, which should be kept active till the declaration of results of this round of CWE. IBPS may send call letters for Pre-Examination Training, Written Examination etc. through the registered e-mail ID. Under no circumstances, a candidate should share/mention e-mail ID to / of any other person. In case a candidate does not have a valid personal e-mail ID, he/she should create his/her new e-mail ID before applying on-line and must maintain that email account.

(i) The application form is integrated with the payment gateway and the payment process can be completed by following the instructions.
(ii) The payment can be made by using only Master/ Visa Debit or Credit cards or Internet Banking by providing information as asked on the screen.
(iii) On successful completion of the transaction, an e-receipt will be generated.
(iv) Candidates are required to take a print of the e-receipt which will have to be submitted with the Call Letter at the time of written examination.

  • After submitting your payment information in the online application form, please wait for the intimation from the server, DO NOT press back or Refresh button in order to avoid double charge
  • For Credit Card users: All prices are listed in Indian Rupee. If you use a non-Indian credit card, your bank will convert to your local currency based on prevailing exchange rates.
  • To ensure the security of your data, please close the browser window once your transaction is completed.

(2) OFFLINE MODE (at counters of specified Bank branches):
(i)payment of fees through CBS branches of the following 6 Public Sector Banks

-A Format of the fee payment challan will be made available on IBPS website. Candidates are first required to take a printout of the fee payment challan from IBPS website and indicate the particular Bank in which they wish to pay fees.
- Candidates are required to fill in the fee payment challan for any of the above Banks with details such as Name, Date of Birth, Contact No., Category, Post Applied for, Amount deposited, Depositing Branch Name and City etc.
- Candidates can then make payment of the requisite fee in any branch of the above mentioned Banks.
- Collect the candidate's copy of the Fee Payment Challan from the Branch. Please check that the challan is properly signed and the details of Transaction Number, Branch Name and DP Code Number, Deposit Date have been noted in the challan by the Branch authorities.
Candidates are required to submit the original fee payment challan along with the Call Letter at the time of written examination.
(ii)Payment of Fees through NEFT in any of the remaining 13 Public Sector Banks (PSBs)
- Candidates are required to fill the NEFT voucher as required by the Bank with beneficiary details as follows.

- Candidates can then make payment of the requisite fee.
- The NEFT payment receipt must be collected from the Bank where payment has been made.
- Candidates should check that the receipt is properly signed and the details of NEFT UTR NO., IFSC code of the sending Bank branch, Name of the sending Bank, City name, Deposit date, Amount etc. are noted in the NEFT Payment Receipt by the Branch authorities.
Candidates are required to submit the original NEFT receipt along with the Call Letter at the time of written examination.

Filling in the Online Application

Please note that all the particulars mentioned in the online application including Name of the Candidate, Category, Date of birth, Address, Email ID, Center of Examination etc. will be considered as final and no modifications will be allowed after the last date specified for Editing/ Updating the same. Candidates are hence requested to fill in the online application form with the utmost care as no correspondence regarding change of details will be entertained.

(1)Candidates are first required to go to the IBPS's website www.ibps.in and click on the Home Page to open the link "Common Written Examination (CLERKS)"

(2)Candidate is now ready to apply Online by clicking on the option "CLICK HERE TO APPLY ONLINE FOR CWE- CLERICAL CADRE 2012" to open up the On-Line Application Form.

(3)In case candidates are remitting their application fees through CBS/ NEFT, candidates will have to enter their basic details including fee payment details and upload the photograph and signature in the online application form. However in case of payment through ONLINE Payment Mode the Application Format will consist of an additional page.

(4)Candidates are required to upload their photograph and signature as per the specifications given in the Guidelines for Scanning and Upload of Photograph and Signature (Annexure II).

(5)Candidates should carefully fill in the details in the On-Line Application at the appropriate places very carefully and click on the "SUBMIT" button at the end of the On-Line Application format. Before pressing the "SUBMIT" button, candidates are advised to verify every particular filled in the application. The name of the candidate or his /her father/husband etc. should be spell correctly in the application as it appears in the certificates/mark sheets. Any change/alteration found may disqualify the candidature.

(6)After upload of photograph and signature, in case of candidates who have paid the requisite application fee through CBS/ NEFT, a Registration Number and Password will be generated. Candidates should note their Registration Number and Password for future reference.
OR
In case candidates wish to pay fees through the online payment gateway after the upload of photograph and signature an additional page of the application form is displayed wherein candidates may follow the instructions and fill in the requisite details.

If the online transaction has been successfully completed a Registration Number and Password will be generated. Candidates should note their Registration Number and Password for future reference.
If the online transaction has not been successfully completed then the following message is displayed 'Your online transaction was unsuccessful. Please register again' Candidates may then revisit the 'Apply Online' link and fill in their application details again.

(7)After applying on-line, the candidate should immediately take a printout of the system generated on-line application form, ensure the particulars filled in are accurate and retain it for future reference. They should not send this print out to the IBPS.

(8)No acknowledgment will be given for online registration. However a Registration Number and Password will be generated and an email/ sms intimation will be sent to the candidate's email ID/ Mobile Number specified in the online application form. If candidates do not receive the email and sms intimations at the email ID/ Mobile number specified by them, they may consider that their online application has not been successfully registered.

(9)An online application which is incomplete in any respect such as without the photograph and signature uploaded in the online application form will not be considered valid.

(10)Request for change/correction in any particulars in the Application Form shall not be entertained under any circumstances AFTER THE LAST DATE FOR Editing/Updating application details specified. IBPS will not be responsible for any consequences arising out of furnishing of incorrect and incomplete details in the application or omission to provide the required details in the application form.

(11)Candidates are advised in their own interest to apply on-line much before the closing date and not to wait till the last date for depositing the fee to avoid the possibility of disconnection/inability/failure to log on the IBPS's website on account of heavy load on internet/website jam.

(12)IBPS does not assume any responsibility for the candidates not being able to submit their applications within the last date on account of the aforesaid reasons or for any other reason beyond the control of the IBPS.

(13)Please note that the above procedure is the only valid procedure for applying. No other mode of application or incomplete steps would be accepted and such applications would be rejected.

(14)Any information submitted by an applicant in his/ her application will bind the candidate personally and if found to be false shall be liable for prosecution apart from consequences in civil law as may be deemed requisite.

Here are some Frequently Asked Questions which will sort out your problems regarding the Common Written Examination.

1. What should I do if there is lot of delay in accessing the page?

Speed for Registration of On-Line Application on Internet, is based on various factors like Internet Speed, large number of applicants trying to register the application at the same time etc. Therefore if you are not able to get the pages for registration immediately, please retry after a gap of 15 minutes or during off-peak hours during the night.

Successful Registration is indicated by the Page displayed after clicking the Submit Button indicating the generated "REGISTRATION NO." and "PASSWORD". Please note down the same carefully and preserve it. If you do not preserve it, you will not be able to Re-Print the Application and download the Call Letter.

3.I did not receive the email intimation for registration of my application?

"REGISTRATION NO." and "PASSWORD" are also sent by auto-response Confirmation emails. Delivery of these emails purely depends upon the correctness of E-Mail ID provided, Policy of your E-Mail Service Provider to accept and Divert such emails under Bulk or Spam Mails or bounce back such mails without accepting it due to heavy number of emails generated by our Applications. In case of Govt./official /company Email Ids, delivery is controlled by your Company Policies. Therefore, please do not expect replies from us, if you do not receive such confirmation / auto-response Emails.

4. How do I re-confirm that my application is saved?

In case of doubt about the successful Registration, candidates are advised to visit the Page for Re-Print of Application, generate the Printout and preserve the soft copy and hard copy (printout) of the Application.

5. I got Blank / Zero Registration No. after submission of application on-line?

In rare cases Candidates may get Zero (0) Registration No. with valid Password. Candidates are advised to Re-Register the Application and check the Printout through Re-Print Application.

6. After filling up the complete form, I got Blank Screen / Internet got disconnected / My PC closed / hanged / shutdown. Is my application saved / registered?

Please refer to Point No.4. If you do not get the application printout through Re-Print option, your application is not saved. Please re-apply.

7. I did not receive the acknowledgement / reply to my email communication?

"Reply to" Email Id for the Application is created for the convenience of the Candidates for genuine communications. Please do not use this address to send back the emails for "Acknowledgment", "Vacation Mail", "Friendship Offers", "Sales Offers" etc. Our Email Server is configured to delete such emails automatically.

8. What details should I retain while replying to auto-response emails?

While writing back by replying the confirmation emails for genuine problem, please retain the text containing "REGISTRATION NO." and "PASSWORD" details on the email.

9. What details should I provide while writing for the problem?

Please do not forget to provide following details while writing to us: (1) REGISTRATION NO. (2) PASSWORD (3) DATE OF BIRTH and (4) FULL NAME as entered in application. In case of application failure or any error message, we would like to have the screenshot of the error in JPG, GIF format or as MS Word file. Additionally, you may provide the PC Details including the Operating System (like Windows XP, Vista, Linux etc.) and Internet Browser and version (like Internet Explorer 6.0, Mozilla 3.0, Firefox 3.5 etc.) used.

10. I want to change / correct the details I entered in the Application?

Please choose the 'EDIT' option to correct the details. Please note that you can use the Edit facility only after 2 days of Registration date and can modify details only up to 3 times. If you have used 3 chances for corrections, please reapply before the closure of Application Date as per advertisement. Please remember to take fresh print out after modifying any details.

IBPS CWE - Guidelines for scanning and Upload of Photograph and Signature

Candidates applying for Bank jobs have to qualify the Common Written Examination conducted by the Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS). The IBPS held examination from time to time for these jobs. While applying On-line through the IBPS official website there are some requirements which candidates should ensure first. Before applying online a candidate will be required to have a scanned (digital) image of his/her photograph and signature as per the specifications given below.

Photograph Image:
  • Photograph must be a recent passport style colour picture.
  • Make sure that the picture is in colour, taken against a light-coloured, preferably white, background.
  • Look straight at the camera with a relaxed face
  • If the picture is taken on a sunny day, have the sun behind you, or place yourself in the shade, so that you are not squinting and there are no harsh shadows
  • If you have to use flash, ensure there's no "red-eye"
  • If you wear glasses make sure that there are no reflections and your eyes can be clearly seen.
  • Caps, hats and dark glasses are not acceptable. Religious head wear is allowed but it must not cover your face.
  • Dimensions 200 x 230 pixels (preferred)
  • Size of file should be between 20kb-50 kb
  • Ensure that the size of the scanned image is not more than 50KB. If the size of the file is more than 50 KB, then adjust the settings of the scanner such as the DPI resolution, no. of colours etc., during the process of scanning.

Signature Image :
  • The applicant has to sign on white paper with Black Ink pen.
  • The signature must be signed only by the applicant and not by any other person.
  • The signature will be used to put on the Hall Ticket and wherever necessary.
  • If the Applicant's signature on the answer script, at the time of the examination, does not match the signature on the Hall Ticket, the applicant will be disqualified.
  • Dimensions 140 x 60 pixels (preferred)
  • Size of file should be between 10kb - 20kb
  • Ensure that the size of the scanned image is not more than 20KB
Scanning the photograph and signature:

(1) Set the scanner resolution to a minimum of 200 dpi (dots per inch)
(2) Set Color to True Color

(4) Crop the image in the scanner to the edge of the photograph/signature, then use the upload editor to crop the image to the final size (as specified above).

Candidates using MS Windows/MSOffice can easily obtain photo and signature in .jpeg format not exceeding 50KB and 20KB respectively by using MS Paint or MSOffice Picture Manager. Scanned photograph and signature in any format can be saved in .jpg format by using 'Save As' option in the File menu and size can be reduced below 50KB (photograph) and 20KB (signature) by using crop and then re-size option (Please see point (i) and (ii) above for the pixel size) in the 'Image' menu. Similar options are available in other photo editor also.

If the file size and format are not as prescribed, an error message will be displayed.

    How to Apply : 

    Candidates applying for these posts are advised to go through the advertisement and ensure their eligibility criteria and apply on-line between 22.06.2012 to 06.07.2012. The candidate must have an active email ID which must be valid at least for six months as all future communication with candidates will take place only through email. The candidate should have the relevant documents /certificates pertaining to age/qualification , caste , experience, demand draft (if required) etc. ready before applying on-line All the relevant fields are compulsory and must be filled carefully to avoid errors in the Application Form. Incomplete on-line applications or on-line applications received after the due date will be rejected. After successfully applying/registering on-line applications , the candidate must take a print out of the filled in on-line application form, affix a recent passport size photograph, sign at the specified place and produce the same at the time of written test /interview. Copies of certificates pertaining to age, qualification, caste, experience, demand draft (where applicable) etc. must be attached along with the print out of the on-line application form. Original certificates are also required to be brought at the time of written test /interview for verification.
