5. What is the selection procedure? 

The selection will be through a multi-stage selection process comprising of:

8. What happens after I am selected? 

ICICI Bank Probationary Officer Training Programme 
You will undergo 7 months of intensive residential classroom training and 5 months of internship  (first internship will be for 2 months and second internship will be for 3 months) with a stipend. To pursue the Probationary Officer Training Programme, interested students will have to invest Rs. 3,00,000/- plus service tax, as applicable, totally amounting to Rs. 3,37,080/- which would be provided by ICICI Bank as a loan at a subsidized interest rate of 2.5% p.a. 

On successful completion of the training and two internships, the Probationary Officers will be absorbed as Assistant Managers (Band I) in the Bank. The loan is to be repaid by Probationary Officers in equated monthly installment (EMI) after joining the Bank. There would be no recovery of EMIs or interest during the training period. The interest accrued during this period would be recovered along with the normal EMIs. The EMIs are spread over a period of 60 months to ensure that there is minimal impact on the monthly earnings of the Probationary Officer. However, if the applicant leaves during training or within five years of joining ICICI Bank after training, ICICI Bank would recover the principal and the interest at market rate on the entire loan amount for the period that the amount was given as a loan to the Probationary Officer. The Loan Agreement will have to be signed by the Probationary Officer while joining the campus. However, the Probationary Officer will have to get the Guarantor form ready before joining the campus for training. The gross salary on joining the Bank after training will be more than Rs. 4 lakh per annum. 

9. What is the total fee that I am required to pay? 

The total fees is Rs. 3,37,080/- (Rs. 3,00,000/- + Applicable Service Tax). 

10. How do I as a Probationary Officer stand to benefit as far as the cost of training is concerned? 
  • The loan is being extended by ICICI Bank at subsidized interest rate of 2.5 % p.a. 
  • No EMIs/interest will be recovered during the training period when the Probationary Officer would 
  • be paid stipend/scholarship during training period. 
  • The EMI/Interest recovery starts only from the 1st salary drawn by the Probationary Officer on 
  • joining the Bank after completion of the training & two internships. 
  • The salary for the Probationary Officer at the grade that he/she would be joining (Assistant 

ICICI Bank Probationary Officer Training Programme 
Manager Band I) has been adequately increased to cater for the payment of loan EMI of approximately Rs. 5,900/- per month. 

11. What would be the implications if I were to leave/resign from the Probationary Officer Training Programme anytime due to unforeseen circumstances? 

If, for any reason whatsoever, the applicant leaves during training or within five years of joining ICICI Bank after training, ICICI Bank would recover the principal and the interest at market rate on the entire loan amount for the period that the amount was given as a loan to the Probationary Officer.  e.g. If a Probationary Officer leaves 4 months after joining the Bank after completion of the 1 year Training Programme he would be required to pay Rs. 3,37,080/- + Interest @ 15 % p.a. (current market rate) for 16 Months (12 months training plus 4 months as employee) less EMIs/Interest already paid. 

12. Would I be required to pay any other amount? 

Yes. If you are selected as the ICICI Bank Probationary Officer you would be required to deposit Rs. 10,000/- Admission Security Deposit into ICICI Bank Account before giving acceptance to the Invitation Letter for the Probationary Officer Training Programme. The procedure for this will be explained in your Invitation Letter. This amount will be refunded to you on the completion of 90 days' training at the Academy. However, if you do not join the training after confirmation or leave the training within 90 days of joining, this amount will be forfeited. 

13. What is the Guarantee that ICICI Bank will give job as Assistant Manager after the training and two internships? 

All the Probationary Officer selects will be given a job guarantee letter soon after joining for training at ICICI Manipal Academy. Job will be guaranteed to the Probationary Officer who will successfully complete the training and two internships in the PGDB programme. 

14. What would be my salary once I join the Bank after the Training Programme? 

Your gross annual salary on joining the Bank will be around Rs. 4 lakh (Cost To Company). 

15. Would I be required to sign any agreement for the loan? 

Yes. Loan agreement, as is required for any loan that an individual avails from a bank, would have to be signed. Processing charges/Stamp Duty of approximately Rs. 410/- or as decided by the Bank will have to be paid by you for the agreement. 

16. When is the Training Programme starting? 

There will be two batches that will start undergoing the training at IMA in the first week of May 2014 and August 2014. 

17. Where will the Training Programme be held? 

The Training Programme will be held in Bangalore or any other location in India as decided by ICICI Bank. 

18. Which functional area, location would the Probationary Officers be placed post completion of the training and two internships? 

Specialization in a functional area is decided by the Bank based on the prevailing needs and business requirements. Further the location of posting is decided by the bank on the basis of business requirements.

Haryana Teacher Eligibility Test (HTET) 2013-14

  • Schools of the State Government / Local authority referred to in the Service Rules and also Sub-clause (i) of clause (n) of Section 2 of the RTE Act, 2009; and
  • Schools referred to in Sub clause (ii) of clause (n) of the RTE Act in Haryana.
  • Provided a School referred to in Sub-clause (iv) of clause (n) of Section 2 of the RTE Act may, for the purpose of Elementary levels, exercise the option of considering either this HTET or the TET conducted by the Central Government.

Instructions Regarding Booklet 
  • Every Test Booklet has a serial number mentioned on the front page which the candidate must carefully write at the appropriate place on the Answer Sheet.
  • The candidate must put his/her signature on the front page of the Test Booklet at the appropriate place.
  • In case the candidate finds any defect in the Test Booklet, he/she should request the invigilator to change the same before writing any particulars.
  • Answer Sheet must be returned to the invigilator before leaving the examination hall.

Instructions regarding Answer Sheets
  • The candidate must read the instructions given on the Answer Sheet carefully. A sample of the Answer Sheet for the test is given in these guidelines/instructions (Annexure - III)
  • Use only Black/Blue ball point pen strictly as per directions mentioned on the Answer Sheet.
  • In case the candidate finds any defect in the answer sheet, he/she should request the Invigilator to change the same.
  • Do not fold the Answer Sheet or make any stray marks or do any rough work on it.
  • The candidate should fill in his/her Roll No. and Test Booklet No. printed on the front page of the Test Booklet in the proper blocks and darken the ovals (circles) with black/blue ball point pen only, as mentioned on the Answer Sheet.
  • The candidate must put his/her signature at the appropriate place on the Answer Sheet with Black/Blue ball pen.
  • Calculator/Mobile Phones will not be allowed inside the Examination Centre.
  • Answers to the questions are to be given by darkening the relevant oval (circle) completely with black/blue ball point pen only.




Admit Cards : ADMIT CARDS WILL NOT BE SENT BY POST. Every eligible candidate may download his/her admit card from the website (www.hbse.ac.in OR www.htet.nic.in OR www.bseh.org.in) with effect from 20.01.2014 onward and appear in the examination at the allotted examination centre. After taking print out of “Roll No./Admit Card”, go through the particulars etc. and if any discrepancy in the particulars of the candidate or his/her photograph and signatures is noticed, the candidate should immediately contact the Special Examination Branch of the Board and get the same corrected. 

  • The exact place and name of the centre for the test shall be mentioned on the admit card.
  • No candidate will be permitted to appear from the centre other than the one allotted to him/her. No request for change of centre will be entertained under any circumstances. If any candidate unlawfully appears from a centre other than the one allotted, his/her candidature will be rejected out rightly and result will be quashed without entering into any correspondence with him/her in this regard whatsoever.
  • Such eligible candidate who does not find his/her admit card on the Board’s website (www.hbse.ac.in OR www.htet.nic.in OR www.bseh.org.in) may contact personally the “Special Examination Branch” of the Board’s office at Bhiwani for this purpose at least two day prior to the date of examination during usual office hours i.e. 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. He/She would be required to bring with him/her adequate proofs i.e. Photostat copy of Computer Generated Application form (“Confirmation Page”), a copy of payment challan in support of having deposited examination fee and an attested copy of certificate of having qualified Secondary(Xth Class) examination, two copies of photograph as uploaded on the Application Form and also adequate proof of having deposited/sent the “Confirmation Page”.
  • No candidate will be admitted to the Examination centre unless he/she produces valid Admit Card having his/her photograph printed on it. In case a candidate does not download his/her Roll No. and does not appear in person at the Board’s Headquarters (Bhiwani) up to one day before the date of examination, his/her request for issue of Roll No. will not be considered and he/she will not be permitted to appear in the examination without valid admit card.

It should be paid in the year in which the income is received.

Advance tax receipts help the government to get a constant flow of income throughout the year so that expenses can be incurred rather than receiving all tax payments at the end of the year. For instance: if your advance tax liability for the Financial Year 2013-14 has exceeded Rs. 10,000, you are expected to pay it in FY 2013-14 itself.

Advance Payment of Tax [Section 207 to 219]

1. Advance tax is payable in respect of all income including capital gains and casual income.
2. Under section 208, obligation to pay advance tax arises in every case where the advance tax payable is Rs. 10,000 or more.

In case of senior citizens who have passive source of income like interest, rent, etc., the requirement of payment of advance tax causes genuine compliance hardship. Therefore, in order to reduce the compliance burden on such senior citizens, exemption from payment of advance tax has now been provided to a resident individual-

(1) not having any income chargeable under the head “Profits and gains of business or profession”; and

(2) of the age of 60 years or more. 
Such senior citizens need not pay advance tax and are allowed to discharge their tax liability (other than TDS) by payment of self-assessment tax.


Limit for payment of advance tax : An assessee who is liable to pay advance tax of less than Rs. 10,000 will not be saddled with interest under sections 234B and 234C for defaults in payment of advance tax. However, the consequences under section 234A regarding interest for belated return shall continue. 

No need for filing estimate: An assessee has to estimate his current income and pay advance tax thereon. He need not submit any estimate or statement of income to the Assessing Officer, except where he has been served with notice by the Assessing Officer.         

Where obligation to advance tax has arisen, the assessee shall himself compute the advance tax payable on his current income at the rates in force in the financial year and deposit the same whether or not he has been earlier assessed to tax.

In the case of a person who has been already assessed by way of a regular assessment in respect of the total income of any previous year, the Assessing Officer, if he is of the opinion that such person is liable to pay advance tax, can serve an order under section 210(3) requiring the assessee to pay advance tax. For this purpose, the total income of the latest previous year in respect of which the assessee has been assessed or the total income returned by the assessee for any subsequent previous year, whichever is higher, shall be taken as the basis for computation of advance tax payable.

The above order can be served by the Assessing Officer at any time during the financial year but not later than the last date of February.

If, after sending the above order, but before 1st March of the financial year, the assessee furnishes a return relating to any later previous year or an assessment is completed in respect of a later return of income, the Assessing Officer can amend computation on the income to returned or assessed.

If assessee feels that his own estimate of advance tax payable would be less than the one sent by the Assessing Officer, he can file estimate of his current income and advance tax payable thereon. Where the advance tax payable or assessee’s estimation would be higher than the tax computed by the Assessing Officer, then the advance tax shall be paid based upon such higher amount. 

No reduction of ‘tax deductible but not deducted’ and ‘tax collectible but not collected’, while computing advance tax liability

(i) As per the provisions of section 209, the amount of advance tax payable by a person is computed by reducing the amount of income-tax which would be deductible or collectible at source during the financial year from any income which has been taken into account in computing the total income.

(ii) Some courts have opined that in case where the payer pays any amount (on which tax is deductible at source) without deduction of tax at source, the payee shall not be liable to pay advance tax to the extent tax is deductible from such amount.

(iii) With a view to make such a person (payee) liable to pay advance tax, a proviso has been inserted in section 209(1)(d). Accordingly, the amount of tax deductible at source but not so deducted by the payer shall not be reduced from the income tax liability of the payee for determining his liability to pay advance tax.

(iv) In effect, only if tax has actually been deducted at source, the same can be reduced for computing advance tax liability of the payee. Tax deductible but not so deducted cannot be reduced for computing advance tax liability of the payee.

(v) Similarly, only if tax has actually been collected at source, the same can be reduced for computing advance tax liability of the buyer or licensee or lessee. Tax collectible but not so collected cannot be reduced for computing advance tax liability of the buyer or licensee or lessee.

If the last date for payment of any installment of advance tax is a day on which the receiving bank is closed, the assessee can make the payment on the next immediately following working day and in such cases, the mandatory interest leviable under section 234B and 234C would not be charged.

Where advance tax is payable by virtue of the notice of demand issued by the Assessing Officer, the whole or the appropriate part of the advance tax shall be payable in the remaining installments.

Where the assessee does not pay any installment by the due date, he shall be deemed to be an assessee-in-default in respect of such installment.

LPG Cylinder will Cost Rs. 1021 w.e.f. March 2014 if don't link Aadhar with your Bank Account

All the LPG providing Gas Companies are going to implement the Aadhar based subsidy scheme w.e.f. March. 2014. For this purpose all the consumers have to submit  their Aadhar details with the LPG distributor from which they are getting Gas and one application form is to be submitted with the Bank in which the consumer wants to get back the subsidy amount. The purpose of this scheme is to stop black mailing of Gas Cylinders. The original consumer first have to pay full amount of a Gas Cylinder to the Distributor to get refill a gas cylinder and then in three/four days he/she will get back the subsidy amount in the Bank Account connected with this Account. Bharat Gas has already started this  process. Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) has also started the Booking of Cylinder from the Mobile Number registered with BPCL. The consumers have to call the Mobile No. 9466456789 and under option 1 the Booking of Gas Cylinder can be made. The customers of BPCL can download the Forms from the official website of BPCL and also from the link provided at the end of this post to link Aadhar with LPG Distributor and Bank. The steps are as under : 

1. First of all Download Application Forms
2. Fill the Form No. 1 which is to be deposited with the LPG Distributor along with photocopy of Aadhar Card and First Page of Blue Book (Delivery Book) supplied by the distributor.
3. Fill the Form No. 2 and submit the same with the Bank to link the account in which you want to get the subsidy. Also submit a photocopy of Aadhar Card to the Bank with this Application Form. 
4. After submitting the form with Bank you will get an SMS from Bank that Your Bank A/c No. xxxx xxxx xxxx 1234 has been linked with your Aadhar Card bearing No. xxxx xxxx xxxx 6789. 

This process can take 5-6 days time to link both accounts. One can chech the status whether both have been linked or not by visiting the site and clicking the option View Your Aadhaar Status. By clicking this option in the next window you have to enter your Mobile No/Land Line No. registered with the distributor or your Aadhaar Card no to view the status.

State Bank of India (SBI) Recruitment of Management Executive 2013-14

State Bank of India (SBI) invites applications from eligible candidates for the posts of Management Trainees in State Bank of Hydrabad in middle Management Grade Scale II (MMGS II) vide Advertisement No. CRPD/ME/AB/2013-14/12. . The interested candidates can apply in online mode only through the link provided on the official website of SBI and also from the link at the end of this post. No other means/mode of application will be accepted.  This is the special recruitment drive for SC/ST/OBC category candidates. As this is a special recruitment drive for reserve category candidates, General Category candidates including General PWD candidates cannot apply for these vacancies. The candidates are advised to ensure their eligibility before applying for these posts.  The selection of  Candidates will  be made on the basis of their performance in written examination, group discussion and interview.

Part time course/ distance learning courses are not eligible. or M.Com or ) M.A./ M.Sc. (in Economics or Statistics) or CA / CWA/ CFA/ CS (Company Secretary).

Application Fee: Candidates have to pay the non refundable application fee and intimation charges of Rs.100/- for SC/ST/PWD and Rs.500/- for OBC category. 

Payment through Offline Mode: Candidates need to pay application fee after submission of online application. After submission of online application, take print out of system generated Challan form and pay the fee at any branch of State Bank of India after 2nd working day of registration and can be made within three working days. Candidate will receive registration confirmation by SMS/e-mail after three working days from the date of payment of fees.

Payment through Online Mode: After submission of Online Application, fee payment can be made online through payment gateway integrated with the application. Payment can be made by using Credit Card/ Debit card/ Internet Banking by providing information as asked on the screen. After making payment, candidates can take print out of system generated e-receipt.

How to Apply: Eligible candidates can apply online through the website www.statebankofindia.com or www.sbi.co.in from 16-12-2013 to 03-01-2014. After submission of online application, take printout of the system generated online application form and keep it for future reference.

  • Before applying online candidates must have a valid email ID and scanned copy of the photograph and signature.
  • Candidates must log on to www.statebankofindia.com or www.sbi.co.in
  • Click on the ‘Recruitment’ link and open the Online Application form.
  • Fill all marked details carefully without any errors; upload scanned photograph and signature at places provided & Submit.
  • Candidates should make a note of Registration Number and Password retain it for further assistance.
  • After submission, candidates must make payment through Online or Offline mode as mentioned above.
