Odisha Staff Selection Commission (OSSC) invites applications from eligible candidates for the post of Junior Engineer (Civil) under the Government in Works Department, H&UD(PH) Department. The recruitment will be made through direct recruitment process. A notification in this regard has been issued by OSSC vide advertisement no. 2225/OSSC dated 04.08.2014.The interested candidates can apply in ONLINE mode only through the link provided on the official website of OSSC. No other means/mode of application will be accepted. The candidates are advised to ensure their eligibility before applying for these posts. The brief details are as under :
Name of the Post: Junior Engineer (Civil)
- Engineer in Chief (EIC) (Civil), R & B under Works Department: 517 posts
- Engineer in Chief (Public Health) PH under H&UD Department: 34 posts
Total vacancies: 551 posts
Pay scale: Pay Band 2 of Rs.9300-34800 with Grade pay of Rs.4200 per month
Age Limit: (as on 01 January 2014) : Minimum: 21 years and Maximum: 32 years
The upper age limit is relax-able up to 05 years for SC/ ST/ SEBC/ Women category candidates and up to 10 years for PWD category candidates.
Educational Qualifications: Diploma in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
Selection Procedure: Selection of candidates will be done on the basis of their performance in the written exam/ online exam.
Examination Fee: Non-refundable examination fee of Rs.100 is to be paid either through online or offline mode using the Treasury Portal or by conventional mode of deposit in the Treasury.
SC/ ST/ PH candidates are exempted from payment of application fees.
Online Mode: through Net Banking of the designated banks or through Debit Card. On successful payment, an e-Challan will be generated from the Treasury portal.
Offline Mode: using the fee payment Challan through any designated Bank provided in Treasury Portal under the “Head of Account – 0051 – PSC – 104 – UPSC/ SSC – Examination Fees – 0047 – Fees collected for conducting examinations- 02041- Examination Fees”.
Conventional Mode: Candidates can also pay the fee through the conventional mode of deposit in the Treasury under the “Head of Account – 0051 – PSC – 104 – UPSC/ SSC – Examination Fees – 0047 – Fees collected for conducting examinations – 02041 – Examination Fees”.
How to Apply: Interested and eligible candidates can apply online through OSSC website http://www.odishassc.in till 05 September 2014 (2359 hours). After applying online, candidates should take a print out of the online submitted application and send it along with original copy of treasury challan/ e-challan and attested copies of relevant certificates/ documents/ testimonials by registered post/ speed post to ‘The Secretary, Odisha Staff Selection Commission, Barrack No 1, Unit V, Bhubaneswar 751054? so as to reach the concerned authority on or before 12 September 2014 (1700 hours). On the envelope carrying the application, candidates should super-scribe “Application for the post of Junior Engineer (Civil)”.
