Maharshi Dayanand University, ab initio established as Rohtak University, Rohtak, came into existence by an Act No. 25 of 1975 of the Haryana Legislative Assembly in 1976  with the objective to promote inter-disciplinary higher education and research in the fields of environmental, ecological and life sciences. It was rechristened as Maharshi Dayanand University in 1977 after the name of a great visionary and social reformer, Maharshi Dayanand.  It had a unitary and residential character in its nascent stage, but became an affiliating University in November 1978. The University secured the recognition of University Grants Commission – the higher education regulatory body of India - for central Govt. grants in Feb. 1983. Maharshi Dayanand University Rohtak invites applications for various Teaching and Non-Teaching posts as mentioned below vide Advertisement No. 3/2012. The candidates have to apply on the prescribed form obtainable from the University Publication Cell on cash payment of Rs.100/- at sale counter (Rs.25/- for SC/BC of Haryana State only) and Rs.130/- by Registered Post (Rs.55/- for SC/BC) by sending demand draft in favour of Finance Officer, M.D.U., Rohtak.  The details are as under :-

• Associate Professor : 16 posts 
• Assistant Professor : 33 posts
• Finance Officer : 01 post 
• Sub Divisional Engineer (Elect.) : 01 post
• Assistant Librarian (For University Library)  : 01 post
• Assistant Librarian : 01 post

Candidates who have already applied for the following posts of Assistant Professor and Associate Professor against Advt.No.2/2011 need not apply again. However, such candidates may update their bio-data and submit the same in the office of the D.R (Estt.Teaching), M.D. University, Rohtak. Those candidates who have already applied for these posts and now do not meet the requirement of specialization may apply for refund of application fee:

i) Assistant Professor in Chemistry

ii) Assistant Professor in Journalism and Mass Communication

iii) Assistant Professor in Political Science

How to Apply : Candidates should ensure their eligibility before applying for these posts. Only those candidates who possess prescribed qualifications may apply along with attested copies of testimonials of each class of the required/concerned course(s) (from Matriculation onward).
