Qualification: Master’s Degree in Library Science/Information Science (under 10+2+3/4+2 scheme). Consistently good academic record is required. Ph.D. in relevant area may be an advantage.
Experience: Minimum 5 years (4 years for SC/ST) of post-qualification experience in library of academic/research/ training institute of national/international repute, with at least 2 years in the immediate lower Grade Pay of Rs.6600/- in the Pay Band of Rs.15600-39100 (pre-revised scale of Rs.10000-325-15200) ) (or in higher scale). Preference will be given to applicants having experience in developing technical libraries and sound practical exposure to computer application in the management of modern, state-of-the art library in a highly automated, integrated and networked environment. A successful applicant is expected to independently develop and manage the library. Good communication skill in English is essential.
Age: Not exceeding 50 years (55 years for SC/ST) as on the last date for receiving application. In the case of candidates on deputation age can be upto 55 years (including SC/ST).
Functions: Overall in-charge of library and facilitates its smooth functioning. Provides support to faculty and students in academic activities. Functions with operational guidance of Dean(s) when appointed. Reports to Director.

2. Administrative Officer (Programme) : (Pay band Rs. 9300-34800 & Grade pay Rs. 5400)

Experience: Minimum 7 years (5 years for SC/ST) of relevant post-qualification supervisory experience in a government department or academic/research institution of national/international repute, with at least 3 years in the lower Grade Pay or equivalent of Rs. 4600/- or 4800/- in the Pay Band or equivalent of Rs. 9300-34800 (pre-revised scale of Rs. 7500-12000) ) (or in higher scale). Applicants should have experience in academic administration and government-related matters and a flair for serving educational institutions. Good communication skills in English and good working knowledge of computer applications are essential.
Age: Not below 35 years but not exceeding 45 years (50 years for SC/ST) as on the last date for receiving application. In the case of candidates on deputation, age can be up to 50 years (including SC/ST).
Functions: Handling of activities of executive Post Graduate Programmes and other academic Programmes as assigned. Supervise overall management and handling of activities related to admissions and academic administration of the Programmes. Liaison with Guests/Adjunct faculty with respect to programmes and sessions. Preparation of Academic calendar and Area teaching plans under the guidance of respective Faculty in-charge of the Programme; interaction with the candidates/participants of different programmes. Scheduling of classes, conduct of exams and preparation of grade sheets.  Maintaining fellowship/contingency funds, liaising for accommodation and mess facilities to the participants attending Programmes. Reports to Faculty In-charge/Programme head/Dean/Officer as assigned.

3. Superintendent (Establishment and Administration) : (Pay band Rs. 9300-34800 & Grade pay Rs. 4600)

Experience: Minimum 5 years (4 years for SC/ST) of relevant post-qualification experience in a government department or academic/research institution/commercial organization of national/international repute, with at least 2 years in the immediate lower Grade Pay of Rs. 4200/- in the Pay Band of Rs. 9300-34800 (pre-revised scale of Rs.6500-10500) (or in higher scale). Applicants should have working experience in handling of general administration, personnel department and government-related matters and a flair for serving educational institutions. Good communication skills in English and good working knowledge of computer applications are essential.

Functions: Handling of establishment and administration related matters for smooth functioning of the Institute, personnel matters starting from advertisement to retirement, employee’s daily attendance, leave records, vacations, and matters related to various allowances as per norms, employees grievances and assisting for activities related to general administration for existing and new campus of the Institute. Reports to Senior Administrative Officer/ Administrative Officer as assigned.

4. Programmer : (Pay band Rs.9300-34800 & Grade pay Rs.4600)

Qualification: B.E./B.Tech. in Computer Science & Engineering/Electronics Engineering (under 10+2+3/4 scheme) or M.Sc. in Information Technology/Computer Science or MCA (under 10+2+3/4+2 scheme) or other equivalent specializations. Good academic record is required.
Experience: Minimum 5 years (4 years for SC/ST) (excluding apprenticeship or training period) of relevant post-qualification experience in computer programming, designing and developing database, forms, reports, customized packages using programing Languages (C/C++/Visual basic/Java/.Net/PHP), and in supporting LAN, Internet and Intranet in a Government department or Public Sector/Autonomous academic/research institution/commercial organization of national/international repute, with at least 2 years in the immediate lower Grade Pay or equivalent of Rs. 4200/- in the Pay Band or equivalent of Rs. 9300-34800 (pre-revised scale of Rs.6500-10500) (or in higher scale). Thorough knowledge of software development using C/C++/Visual basic/Java/.Net/PHP and other Programming language, application packages (Web Designing tools like WordPress/Zoomla), Java Script, JQuery  under Linux and WINDOWS environment databases like MS-SQL\MySql\Oracle etc. is essential. Thorough knowledge of deployment of Databases and connectivity with front end packages. Thorough knowledge of Windows, Computer hardware & software (Desktop/Laptop), networking of LAN/WAN, Wi-Fi, troubleshooting, configuration of network equipments (like switch and access points). Good communication skill in English is essential.

Functions: Supporting the management of IT Resources Centre of the Institute. Design, development, implementation and maintenance of software and systems, design and development of database using MS-Access, MySQL\Oracle and MS-SQL server, development of software tools and packages for MIS application. Provide operation support to all the users in respect to computer systems and workstations. Installing and configuring new hardware and software. Schedules, performs, and monitors system backups and, when necessary, performs data recoveries. Assist the Systems Administrator by supporting in Data Center Management, Database Administration, Storage Systems Management, Data Security, maintenance and upgradation of computer software, etc. Troubleshoot the network and system environments. Reports to Systems Administrator or as assigned.

5. Office Assistant : (Pay band Rs.9300-34800 & Grade pay Rs.4200)

Should have excellent communication skills in English. Good working knowledge of computer applications is essential.

Qualification: 12th standard pass (under 10+2 scheme) with a good understanding of routine automobile maintenance requirements. Should have been possessing a valid driving license at least for 4 years and never awarded a suspension of driving license. Should be fluent in Hindi with skills to speak English. Preference will be given to those having higher qualifications, a working knowledge of computers and experience in handling routine office activities.
Experience: Minimum 3 years (2 years for SC/ST) of relevant post-qualification experience in government or academic/research/commercial organizations of national/international repute, with at least 1 year serving in a multi-role function.
Age: Not exceeding 35 years (40 years for SC/ST) as on the last date for receiving application. In the case of candidates on deputation, age can be up to 40 years (including SC/ST).
Functions: Primary function will be as chauffeur of Director. Other functions include performing various tasks at the Directorate as assigned by the Manager Directorate (Secretary/Executive Assistant to Director) or any other tasks as assigned by the Institute including driving other vehicles of the Institute, doing photocopying, handling ticket booking, preparing documents on computers etc. Reports to the Manager Directorate or as assigned.

8. Attendant : (Pay band Rs.5,200 – 20,200 and grade pay Rs. 1800)

Qualification: 10h standard pass. Preference will be given to those having working knowledge of computers. Should be able to communicate in Hindi and preferably English.
Experience: Minimum 3 years (2 years for SC/ST) of relevant post-qualification experience in a government department or academic/research institution/commercial organization of national/international repute, with at least 1 year working in the office of senior level executives/officers.
Age: Not exceeding 35 years (40 years for SC/ST) as on the last date for receiving application. In the case of candidates on deputation, age can be up to 40 years (including SC/ST).
Functions: Functions include performing various tasks as assigned by the Institute such as distributing circulars and messages, availability on call to any officer/staff, doing photocopying, attending to various academic arrangements including in the classrooms, etc. Reports to an Officer/other staff as assigned.

GENERAL INFORMATION/CONDITIONS RELATED TO ADVERTISED STAFF POSITIONS.

1. 2. Interested candidates may also send a scanned copy of their filled & signed application in the Prescribed     Format and duly signed other relevant documents, in advance to the following e-mail id: personnel@iimrohtak.ac.in . In this case, the original should be sent as in (1) above.
3. Applications not submitted in the Prescribed Application Format (for Staff positions) and without candidate’s signature will not be entertained.
4. Applicants who have applied earlier in the last two years need not apply again.
5. The minimum pay includes current DA @ 107%.
6. All the above positions require a near 24×7 commitment to the Institute. Therefore, candidates willing to dedicate themselves fully to the Institute are expected to apply.
7. Based on the candidates’ suitability, the positions will be filled either on regular scale of pay or on fixed consolidated monthly salary on contract.
8. Appropriate functional title may be assigned to the selected candidates at the positions advertised.
9. The Institute at its own discretion may conduct Written/Practical Test/Interview for any of the posts.
10. Those who are in regular service in government/public sector establishments may be required to produce a No Objection Certificate, if called for interview.
11. The SC/ST candidates are required to attach the Caste certificate in the format prescribed by Government of India and issued by competent authority.
12. Appropriate, relaxation in upper age limit may be given to Ex-Servicemen.
13. Only shortlisted applicants will be contacted.
14. Applicants having at least 3 years’ experience in a similar or immediate next lower position in any of the IIMs may be given two years relaxation and applicants having at least 2 years’ experience in a similar or immediate next lower position in any of the IIMs may be given one year relaxation in required work experience.
15. Mere fulfilling of the minimum qualifications/eligibility and experience will not confer any right to the candidates for being called for interview and/or for his/her selection.
16. The Institute solely reserves the right not to fill any advertised position without assigning any reason. The Institute also reserves the right to limit the total number of candidates to be called for interview. The decision of the Institute in this regard will be final.
17. No correspondence whatsoever will be entertained from candidates regarding conduct and result of interview and reasons for not being called for interview.
18. The Institute shall verify the antecedents or documents submitted by a candidate at the time of appointment and at any time during the tenure of service. In case it is found at any time that any of the documents submitted by the candidate are falsified or tampered or the candidate has doubtful antecedents/background and has suppressed the said information, then his/her services can be terminated.
19. The Institute shall not be responsible for any postal delay.
20. No TA/DA or any other allowance will be paid by the Institute for attending the interview.
21. Candidates are required to bring all original certificates of their academic and professional qualifications and work experience for verification on the date of interview.

1. Bachelors Degree in any discipline from recognized university with at least 60% marks in all Boards / University examinations with 04 years experience as Sr. Assistant or equivalent in the Grade Pay of Rs. 2800/- in Central Govt. / State Govt. / Autonomous Bodies / Public Sector Undertakings.

General Instructions : 
  1. Candidates should read carefully the requisite minimum essential qualifications, knowledge, experience laid down in the advertisement before applying for the relevant post.
  2. Good knowledge of Computer applications (on word processor, spreadsheet, presentations software etc. and OS like MS-Windows, LINUX etc.) will be a distinct plus.
  3. In addition to the pay scale as above, the posts carry the usual allowances at par with those admissible under Central Government in the corresponding scale.
  4. The Institute reserves right to select any candidate on contract basis, if the selection committee recommends so.
  5. There is no age limit for Group 'A' Sl. No. 01 post and will be decided at the time of shortlisting. However, maximum prescribed age is 32 years for the posts at Sl. No. 02 & 03 and 27 years for the posts at Sl. No. 04 to 06. Age is further relaxable by 5 years for SC/ST candidates and 3 years for OBC candidates in accordance with Government of India's rules. Further, the age relaxation upto maximum of five years can be given to the candidates who appear to have special qualification or highly relevant experience for the concerned position.
  6. For employees of IIT's who are educationally qualified can be considered for direct recruitment across the whole IIT system up to a maximum of 50 years of age.
  7. DD/IPO of ` 100/- (Rupees one hundred only) for Group 'A' posts at Sl. No.  01 and DD/IPO of ` 50/- (Rupees fifty only) for Group 'B' and 'C' posts at Sl. No. 02 to 06 should be enclosed (drawn in favour of Registrar, IIT Delhi payable at New Delhi). No DD/IPO is required for SC/ST posts.
  8. Separate application form should be submitted for each post. Persons serving in Govt. Deptts., Autonomous organizations, Corporations, Boards etc. should apply through proper channel.
  9. The reservation and the percentage thereof, for Physically Handicapped / Ex-servicemen will be as per current Central Govt. Orders. The candidates applying against reserved posts are required to attach the attested copies of relevant certificate issued from the concerned Competent Authority in the Performa as prescribed by the Govt. of India. The Institute follows the central list in the case of OBCs.
  10. The relaxation & concessions to the candidates applying for the reserved category posts exist as per Govt. of India Rules.
  11. Mere fulfillment of qualifications and experience requirements does not entitle any candidate to be called for test / or Interview.
  12. No correspondence whatsoever will be entertained from candidates regarding conduct and result of interview and reasons for not being called for interview.
  13. In case of any dispute / ambiguity / confusion that may occur in the process of selection, the decision of the Institute shall be final.
  14. The Institute may conduct Written and / or Practical Tests / or Presentation for these posts and only those candidates who qualify the said tests etc. will be called for interview.
  15. Outstation candidates called for tests / interview for the posts will be paid 2nd Class Railway Fare from the place of duty/residence to Delhi and back by the shortest route through Demand Draft or the amount admissible may be transferred to the Bank Account of the concerned candidate and will not be paid on the spot. 
  16. The age of superannuation for all the posts is 60 years. 
  17. The application form without the attested copies of all relevant certificates (both experience and Education) will be rejected.
  18. The candidates fulfilling the above eligibility criteria may submit their application on the prescribed Application Form along with testimonials; prescribed fee; and latest passport size photograph to Recruitment Cell, Room No. MZ-113, IIT Delhi, Hauz Khas, New Delhi – 110016. The prescribed application form can be obtained from the Recruitment Cell either in person or by sending a self addressed stamped (` 10/-) envelope of 28 x12 cms and outer cover of request should be superscribed “Request for Application Form-Advertisement No. E-II/08/2014 (E)”. Such postal requests should reach IIT Delhi at least 10 days before the last date of receipt of application form.
