Punjab Technical University (PTU) - Ph.D. Admission Notice for academic session 2014-15

Punjab Technical University (PTU) has issued notification for admission in Ph.D. in various disciplines as mentioned below vide Reference No. PTU/RIC/1699 Dated 20.10.2014. The interested candidates who want to take admission in these course can apply in ONLINE mode only through the link provided on the official website of PTU. No other means/mode of application will  be accepted. The candidates are advised that they should not send hard copy of application form or other documents to PTU by post. The original application form, original documents of eligibility and  supporting documents of test exempted candidates, will be verified at the time of interview. The Stream/Discipline wise seats are as under :

Admission Criteria : 
  • This is for the information of all applicants seeking admission in PhD program that only those candidates who fulfil one of the following eligibility criteria are exempted from the PhD entrance test:
  • Candidates who have qualified NET/GATE/GPAT/SLET or equivalent test
  • Candidates who have been selected to fellowship such as Rajiv Gandhi Fellowship awardees/teacher-fellowship holders/INSPIRE.#
  • Award of fellowship by CSIR/ICAR/ICSSR/ICHR/ICMR/DBT/DST/PTU or from any other recognized government  Institution/organization. #

SAP fellowship of UGC*# / Project JRF/Project Assistant*# /Candidates with UGC 

Note: *Selection of Candidates for SAP fellowship, University teaching assistantship, Project JRF, Project Assistant and UGC 
# Fellowship holder should be working in the PTU and its affiliated colleges or at MOU signed institutions.

Revised Fee Structure : 

1. Registration form for admission: 2000/- from 2014-15.
2. Pre-registration fee (Provisional Registration) 25000/- from 2014-15
3. Thesis submission 25000/- from 2014-15
4. Annual Fee Rs. 6000/- per semester or 12000 per year this includes:-
Subscription to research journals such as Science Direct etc.
Subscription to anti - Plagiarism software turnitin
Other university user charges.
From the date of provisional (For all students)
Registration (Avg. 3 years)
5. Course work fees 20000/- (10000/- per subject) paid at PTU and Regional Centers
6. Late Fees : 
A. Annual report submission- 500/- per month, Fee-100 per month.
B. Extension for synopsis = 10000/- By six months
C. Extension for submission of thesis for 6 year = 15000/
D. Extension for submission of thesis for 7th year = 15000/-
