The financial year 2011-12 has been over. The Income Tax Department has issued the New Return Forms of Income Tax for the Assessment Year 2012-13. A Notification (Download Notification in English and Hindi) in this regard has been issued by the Income Tax Department. There are different type of forms for different purposes. The forms are ITR-1 SAHAJ, ITR-2, ITR-3, SUGAM (ITR-4S), ITR-4 AND ITR-V. ITR-V is the Acknowledgement Form which is common for all. All other forms and their uses is described as under :-
ITR- 1 SAHAJ For Indian Individual Income tax Return
ITR- 2 For Individuals and HUFs not having Income from Business or Profession
ITR- 3 For Individuals/HUFs being partners in firms and not carrying out business or profession under any proprietorship]
SUGAM (ITR-4S)- Sugam - Presumptive Business Income tax Return
ITR- 4 For individuals and HUFs having income from a proprietor business or profession
ITR- V Acknowledgment
